Production Manager
Tate Nova is Production Manager for Sandbox Films, bringing a wealth of experience from a career in narrative and documentary production and a deep dedication to the company’s mission of boundary-pushing storytelling. She was a co-producer on Sandbox’s A Life Illuminated and helped produce several films still in development with Sandbox before joining the staff full time. Tate is passionate about fostering the long-term relationships and collaborative environment that allow independent filmmakers to thrive. With a career spanning documentary, commercials, and television, Tate has held assistant director and field supervisor roles at Saturday Night Live, The Problem with Jon Stewart, and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Tate holds a degree in writing from Sarah Lawrence College. She is a member of the Directors Guild of America as a First Assistant Director, and was nominated for a DGA Award for Stage Managing Spike Jonze’s Netflix special, Aziz Ansari: Right Now. Tate has served on the Directors Guild Eastern AD/UPM Council and on the Directors Guild Commercial Contract Negotiating Committee.
