Sandbox Films is currently recruiting the following position.

Distribution Producer

Distribution Producer will manage the reach and impact of all Sandbox Films titles by overseeing distribution deals, strategizing the most effective windowing of a release, and — when relevant — coordinating non-theatrical, community, and other in-person and digital screening opportunities throughout the lifespan of a films release.

Our deal

Sandbox Films is a mission-driven film company that specializes in creative and boundary-breaking documentaries rooted in scientific ideas that inform society and culture. We collaborate with production partners and visionary filmmakers, providing co-production and financing opportunities for bold, artist-driven ideas. Our films have premiered at festivals around the world — including Sundance (winning the Special Jury Prize for Nonfiction Experimentation), SXSW, Telluride, TIFF, and CPH:DOX. Our films have been acquired by Netflix, Apple Original Films, Neon, BBC, and PBS, among others. More about our approach.

Our vibe

All of the excitement and opportunity of a startup with all of the stability and cozy benefits of an established institution (were powered by the Simons Foundation). We’re a small and hardworking team (we already have about 18 feature-length films completed or in the works). We’re perfectionists (who also welcome alternate points of view). Were headquartered in NYC (shiny new offices being outfitted now).

Our commitment

One of the founding motivations for launching Sandbox Films is to make science documentary more inclusive. In addition to increasing diversity onscreen, we seek to collaborate with artists behind the camera who have different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives. We cant accomplish any of this if we dont extend the same philosophy to our workplace. As such, we are committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive work environment. Sandbox Films actively seeks a diverse applicant pool and encourages candidates of all backgrounds to apply. We provide equal opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, religion, color, age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic disposition, neurodiversity, disability, veteran status or any other protected category under federal, state and local law.
